O n arrival at the Blue Rainbow at 1am we were tired, hungry and thirsty, we were told by the night porter that we could buy something to eat and drink from the 24 hour supermarket opposite the hotel, they did however open up the drinks machine for us eventually. On waking up the next morning at 8.00am to the sound of builders drilling and banging right opposite us we made our way to the dining area, we discovered that the Blue Rainbow hotel is now the Alinda hotel (which is being built directly opposite the old Blue Rainbow - hence its run down state as seemingly it is going to be knocked down at the end of the season so ther holiday and as sefore no money was being spent on it. We booked our trip through Thomas Cook and didn't realise until the tickets came that it was a flexi-trip and as such, we did not have the facility of a resort rep.

Our saviour came in the form of Angela who was a Jewel in the Crown rep, who when we approached her to see about the resort, trips, buses etc she was only too happy to help us with anything we wanted to know and without her, we definitely would have been struggling - even when the hotel manager LOST our paperwork and we needed to confirm our transport back to Dalaman, she sorted it out for us.

hotel very clean room was spotless clean sheets and towels every day credit to the maids the food was nice but after so many days of chicken we decided to eat out.the staff were very pleasant and helpful. They could do with a few more sunbeds around the pool area, the only fault i could find with the blue rainbow was you only had a choice of two drinks vodka and gin anything else you had to pay for and then come eleven oclock it shut .i would stay there again but not all inclusive i did enjoy my stay.

Stayed for 2 weeks AI with my sister and niece.Hotel staff friendly without been over the top not all speak fluent English.Pool area lovely, lots of sunbeds but get there early, pool spotless. Rooms small especially for 3 but clean and functional and maid service daily. Food ok.Always a choice but always the same choice.Chicken daily but there is always another option. They do use left overs and you can tell it put me off a bit but it shouldnt have really because the food always tasted nice though repetitive.Limited alcoholic drinks to local red and white wine, gin, vodka, beer.Soft drinks orange, cherry, fanta orange, lemonade, water, tea and coffee.Location is good only 2 mins from beach and we had a lovely beach view. One downside was our room was above the blue rainbow bar which they say is seperate from hotel and if your in bed before 12 there is a lot of noise.I would say if you stay here expect to still eat out, use the hotel for the pool and soft drinks during the day and the odd drink on an evening. The location makes up for any downsides.I would stay here again and would tell my friends to go there too.

My husband and i travelled to Icmeler with our two children (4 and 14 months) and another 16 people. On arrival we were put in to a room with three beds (no cot), unfortunately the room was that small we couldn't fit the cot in the room. Luckily enought my mother and father in law were in the room next door so they took the cot. This was not the best start. Food in the hotel was nice but not much choice. Toilet is very small, especially if you are trying to get the kids washed.

The room is cleaned on a daily basis and the cleaners are the best part about the hotel, they are lovely. I would say the pool is gorgeous and there are plenty of beds but it is quite deep, too deep for the kids.

The hotel is perfectly situated just up from the beach and right across from a couple of bars and restaurants and we are looking forward to returning to Icmeler next year but going to a different hotel.

I can't find fault with the resort at all but i wouldn't go near this hotel.

Really loved this hotel. Myself and my partner went to Turkey because the travel agent recommended it and loved it. The hotel itself contains rooms that are a little on the small side but the pool and location more than make up for it. The food is good, but we found ourselves eating out more and more as the local bars and eateries are just fantastic.

Price was really good and we've been back to the same hotel for a couple of years now.

don't normally do this sort of thing but after spending two weeks here i feel i should let people know what to expect,we are very open minded people and i would say quite easily pleased ,but this place gradually wore us down, the blue rainbow has a nice swimming pool and is in an ideal location for the beach ,bars, restaurants and shopping, the hotel itself is in need of a complete makeover, the rooms are on the small side, the bathroom is tiny with no light except for a really dim light bulb, but the room was cleaned every day,we stayed all inclusive so expected to have at least water in the mini bar,all we got was an empty fridge, which we had stock ourselves from our own pocket no tea ,coffee making facilities, not allowed to take drinks from the bar area to your room, sat TV a joke BBC world news and a few dutch german channels.the food was prepared and presented well, but not much choice for the main course,in fact if you like chicken chicken chicken its fine, the desserts where really strange, most of them looked like shredded wheat covered in treacle,if you miss the set meal times there were no other facilities for food you had to go out ,the drinks were served in plastic cups, drinking wine from a plastic cup just not the same, local beer ,wine ,vodka, rakki and soft drinks all served during the day by a girl with the worst mood swings ever,in fact most of the staff were very impersonal, got the feeling that they already had our money so why be friendly, the bar staff in the evening were really petty you had to bring an empty cup to bar before they would give you another drink, there where eight of us staying there,so getting around of drinks was nightmare, they were paranoid you were giving drinks to people outside.apart from the breakfast and a few evening meals on our first week we ate out most of our stay.the pool is probably one of the best features of this place, nice and big,but get up early for a sunbed.would we go back,to icmeler yes,but not to this hotel.

"Excellent Hotel - Excellent Holiday!!!"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Excellent

Open quote

Arrived at the hotel and were helped with our cases. The staff at the Blue Rainbow are very friendly and polite and nothing is too much trouble. We were given room 110 and our cases were taken up for us.

The room was very good – not that big but who cares when you are only sleeping there. The sea view was to die for - overlooking the sister hotel, the Elif. The bathroom was a little small and not very well lit but hey, who cares. If I was to have any complaints about the hotel itself, the only thing would be that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and sometimes I could have murdered a cup of tea while sitting on the balcony. Not to worry though.

Air conditioning was very welcome and was set to ‘turbo’ most of the time!! There was a TV in the room but we could only find one English speaking channel – CNN – but who goes on holiday to watch TV?????

Spent every day by the pool where there were plenty of sunbeds and a pool bar which was very good. The pool is quite deep even at the shallow end so be careful if you are not confident in deep water.

Located very close to the beach - the hotel also has sunbeds on the beach for 2 Lira per day for their guests but we were happy by the pool.

I would highly recommend the Blue Rainbow and will be more than happy to stay there again.

"ICR Travel - Beware"

My husband and myself stayed in the Blue Rainbow hotel in Iclmeler for one week on 6 June and we had a lovely time – the only problem was we had actually booked for the Devamli hotel via ICR Travel and we were told at the last minute that we were overbooked and were being transferred to the Blue Rainbow. Apparently the Devamli hotel are notorious for overbooking. Whilst we were in Icmeler, I complained to the Manager of the Devamli and I was told that they were fully booked by last November and they were not even remotely interested in my complaint. We booked our room in February through ICR Travel and we received confirmation that we were staying at the Devamli – so someone is telling porky pies but nobody will admit to it – so be warned – if you book through Iclemer Travel, whatever hotel you choose, you have got a very good chance of ending up at the Blue Rainbow – it seems to be the place they put all their overbookings.

just return from a good holiday at the bluerainbow hotel.hotel was clean, breakfast was ok,we were on bb so ate out at nights.pool area had plenty off sun beds, pool was to deep if you have young children and not good if you are not a good swimmer.barstaff fatima and sister were great, shame poolside bar shut around 12oclock at night even if there were people still sitting round poolside.bar across the road amelia was great for late drink and english breakfast, staff was a good laugh.plenty of bars and restartants but you do get hassle alot.when we arrived we got rooms 501/502 on the fifth floor great sea views no balcony, but hotel roof,we joke that we got the servants quarters,on the second day i could smell petrol, they send someone up to look but they just spray air freshner.was not happy to risk my family with fumes so ask to be move they did on the first floor.its was a shame the manger/owner did not speak to is quests and make them feel more welcome.waiters were friendley though.

will return one day but to a hotel with more entertainment the blue rainbow had none good value for money though.

my self and my family stayed in the blue rainbow in june/july,we found the hotel to be very clean, the rooms however are a little on the small side, air conditioning is very good as we put it to the test when we were there, as there was a heat wave, with temptatures reaching into the 50s.

The food in the hotel was fine with plenty to choose from,my kids are very fussy eaters and they never had many complaints. the location of the hotel is perfect as it is right in the centre of the resort and directly on the beach.
Icemilar is a very laid back resort and you are not pestered half as much as you would be in some of the bigger resorts. What we liked about this resort was we were able to let our sixteen year olds go and do there own little bit of shopping/haggeling on there own, knowing that they were perfectly safe.

we will be returning to this resort and The Blue Rainbow as we thouroghly enjoyed our stay there.

This was our second time to Icmeler. Our 1st time was A/I and we didn't like the food. Decided on the Blue Rainbow because it was close to the beach, and in a very good part of Icmeler.Although it was H/B once again we found the food not to our liking but no worries, the Amalia pub and resturant across the road must have the best chef in Turkey.

The hotel is spotless. Rooms were cleaned every day and how the maids make up your bed with petals and rose buds is beyond me.All the staff were wonderful. We arrived early hours of the morning (3-30am) and a meal was waiting for us laid out on the tables. NO, you didn't have to eat if you didn't want to but atleast you had the choice. I though that was a wonderful start to the holiday. You will find that if you are H/B one let down is, you have to pay for drinks!!! What ever drink you have with your meal, water tea, coffee or even the harder stuff you pay for it. I would have thought tea, coffee and water would have been available at no cost if you only had the one but, sorry, no you need to pay.

No problems getting a sunbed. There are plenty to go around and no towels are placed there at 5am in the morning. Even the Pool bar staff will bring your drinks and ash trays to you by the pool if you ask, and you pay at the end of the day for what you have eaten or drank. We found no children at the Blue Rainbow at all. I think if you have children you go to the sister hotel the Elif. Please be aware if you don't swim. The pool is shallow if youre over 5ft 5 at one end. No childrens pool.

One thing i wasn't happy with was the size of the bathrooms. If you aren't satisfied with your room you are given (we had asked for a sea view and were placed across from the bars) just pop down to reception and they will gladly exchange them for you. They gladly did for us, 3 rooms in all. Bars are VERY close by.No noise after midnight, all bars are by LAW made to turn the music off at midnight.

The Blue Rainbow is a fantastic place to stay and would i return? We are in August so that must say something for the hotel.

Icmeler is a beautiful place, the hotel was excellent, very clean, food quite good.
Lovely clean resort, some hassle at the bars and shops, but resort very quiet when we were there so they were competing for custom.
We went on a boat trip which was a restful day with swimming and a trip to Turunc, and Rhodes was lovely on the catamaran.
Went to Pamukkale for the day, trip on the bus was horrendous with a promise of a trip to a little Turkish Village which was actually a carpet factory where you were subject to selling.
Pamukkale very hot, and not as expected. We were actually on the trip for a total of nearly 14 hours with 2 and a half hours in Pamukkale.
Nice to see if a little closer but not recommended.
Try the Alinda across the road for good English breakfasts.
Staff very friendly, and ask for 'Wiggy' who is especially helpful.
Also try the Geordie bar, Eileens the Titanic and the Romeo and Juliet bar.
Highly recommended holiday destination and hotel.
