just back from our first time in turkey wow we loved it alicik apartments basic but spotless and staff were great could mot do enough for us , the pool was lovely with plenty of beds and parasols , located just 5 mins main street with bars shops and restraunts but very quiet apartments .
not many brits but hey you dont go to turkey then moan about there not being brits .

cant wait to return and will be going back to alicik apartments .

Having just returned reluctantly from a week in Marmaris we felt we must wright about possibly the best holiday we have ever had! Firstly the Appartments, upon arrival we soon noticed we were the only English there being mostly Danish. However do not let this deter you, if you want a central, clean location then this is the place to be. Only a 5 minute walk from the beach, restaurants and bars and 10 minutes from the resort centre.
RESTAURANTS
Eden located on the beach front has got to be the best place we ate at and definately worth a visit!!
BARS
On our first day and completely by pot luck we stumbled across 'THE DROP IN BAR' located on the beach, this bar and the staff in it made our holiday, with Gengis (The Boss), Maria supplying us endless amounts of Vodka, Craig to pluck our eyebrows, Echin searching for love and David Dancing this place really will make you smile (Tell David I miss him!!!!) Having only been back for 2 days we are already planning our return in october!!

The Alicik Apartments were very basic but clean and in close proximity to the beach and the main strip of pubs and clubs. The owners were very friendly although they were extremely reluctant at times to offer any assistance when the cleaner had gone home.

We were just off the main street, behind McDonalds and were surrounded by small bars and restaurants at very reasonable prices, mind you the whole place is reasonably priced. The best restaurant was by far the Kibele and across the road the Hideaway Bar became our local for the whole holiday where the crack was good and the barmen were tidy!!(Spike)Also met up with a crew from Gateshead who were as insane as we were and drank just as much!! (Hi Guys!) Never did the whole Bar Street thing this year - it's a total waste of time and money. You're better off staying down the beach front or on the main street.

The shops are good and you everything is so cheap. There are loads of clothes shops but unfortunately you have to look like Twiggy to fit into any of it.
Their vodka isn't bad either and costs less than a fiver for a bottle.(Cigs were a lot dearer this year though I found)

This is the second time I have been to Turkey and love it! Have to say went too late in the year this time and found it a lot quieter. Would recommend it to anyone of all ages as it is the kind of place that has something for everyone. The weather was unbelievable and if you are a sun junkie like the 3 of us are then this is the place for you. Going to try somewhere else this summer but will definitely be coming back to Marmaris in the future.
