stayed there for week commencing 12/5/08 worst holiday we have ever had no electricity for 3 days no working fridge for 4 days and then we had to carry it into the bedroom. electrics in the apartment were dangerous with bare wires and nothing to put plugs into cos no covers over most of the sockets seemed we had to ask for things every day we was there never saw the thomas cook rep on site to report things to and the staff working there said they would get things fixed and to top it all think they washed the apartment floors with our towels cos they was black after the cleaners had been in. so much so for self catering couldnt use anything in the room cos nothing worked

We stayed at the long beach in september for 3 weeks, we arrived at 4.30 am and the bar was still open which was great, the apartments where very basic with no televisions, which was a pain when on hols for 3 weeks some nights fancied staying in and just watching tv!

The restaurant which elivis worked next to hotel was fantastic, the staff at long beach were very friendly billy, ossie and ramazan made our hols, so thinking of going back next year!
the pool area was ok nothing special and can be very slippy so be careful loads slipped!
the rooms could of done with being cleaner some days the maids missed cleaning our rooms!
apart from that the staff and location of long beach was great!
mascots restaurant which is just up the road was fantastic and we dined there quite a few times, i think 3 weeks was to long so better sticking with 2 weeks!

will go back to marmaris again great place plenty to do, the prices are going up fast in turkey so do take pleanty of cash!

Arrived at Long Beach at half 4 in the morning got key to the room only to find the bedroom flooded the porter chap came up and mopped it all up (it came from the air con its got an overflow bottle which needed emptied twice a day)Awoke to brilliant sunshine, time to explore.

Marmaris is a great resort plenty to do and see lots of great eating places Portofinos accross the road was excellent also the Happy chinese too many good places to mention here. I would steer clear of the Tai Pan on the beachfront we had a meal there on our 2nd last night and 4 of our party had upset stomachs within the hour (myself included)The apartments are very basic but clean due to the overworked cleaners who are all very friendly.Health and safety doesn't exist in Turkey as seeing the cleaners hanging out of the windows and standing on the window ledge to clean the windows just had to be seen to be believed.

Also the pool and bar area is very slippery (a Manchester woman slipped and smashed her wrist and had to have metal pins inserted in to it while we were there)I will never slag off Germans again about sunbeds as some of the things i witnessed about Brits getting sunbeds just had to be seen. 1 English guy going down at 4 in the morning with 18 towels an Irish guy with 14 towels at about half 4 even if you were lucky to get one people just lay on your towels (as a Sunderland woman did to me she thought it was her towel she said even though it was a giant Scotland flag/towel)

The bar staff Billy and Ossie were a good laugh and good fun.All in all i don't think i would go back to Turkey if we did we wouldn't take the girls as we found it quite intimidating with them.You have to do a boat trip as it good fun and value for money.
