it was a very friendly hotel all the staff were so helpful, the food was poor but you could make a meal from wat was there, pool lovely always clean an tidy, room was always cleaned well maids were very helpful an polite had a great holiday but wouldnt go back to turkey as they are all over you an it made me feel so uncomfortable an infact it was horrible they need to back off and leave you alone.
it is a family resort. not for young people an make sure you take money as its so expensive.

Was looking forward to staying at the akdeniz after seeing the lovely pictures and reading the good reviews. Hotel room was nothing like that on there website in fact there are only 8 rooms of that standard all the others are something out of the ark. Only thing i could not fault was the maid service which was excellent. Receptionist wasnt very helpful as i had requested my 2 teenagers room would be next to mine, but once arriving found they were in a differant building i asked to be moved but was told no more rooms which i found strange as people were leaving and arriving every day, they said leave it with us but that was the last i heard. Was woken every morning from a very loud cockeral and chickens running around the grounds. Sun bed situation was a joke people were putting their towels out between 11 and midnight ready for the next day I had a word with reception but was told nothing they could do as there would be arguments. This also proved around the pool was not cleaned for the whole of my weeks stay as the beds were never moved and we found ourselves cleaning the night befores glasses and rubbish away from our beds,I even had chicken poo next to my bed one morning and asked the young lady to get it cleaned only to have her laugh at it and dissapear i then had to ask somebody esle who eventualy cleaned it with a dry broom and dust pan(lovley)still had to look at the skid marks of chicken poo. The chef in the mornings could not cook more then 1 egg and was using a wooden spoon to cook it so it always scrambled instead of fried, caught him one morning catching a wasp with hes spatchelers and then continued to use them. Flies all over the food in the mornings was a big problem. Food was often cold in the evening we were told if we wanted hot food we would have to eat at the alacarte menu as food served in the hotel goes cold after 3 mins. Chef in the evening spent the whole time sitting behind the counter on his mobile phone, when told the chips were cold he decided to put his whole hand int the tin and then continued to serve them, his colleague even had a plate and decided only to eat half so put the rest back into the tin. Staff argued with each other every day ,then to top that in front of all hotel guests an unwanted ex member of staff visited the hotel only to be dragged into the reception and held down by staff and headbutted in the face.
This hotel is by far the worst i have ever been to hygene and cleanliness certainly wants to be improved if they want holiday makers to return. Dont take any thing to fancy for the evening as the only bar still has the days dirty water flowing around it an...

My family and I have just returned from Akdeniz Beach Hotel (28th August). This is a small hotel, 55 rooms in small blocks surrounding the swimming pool. All inclusive includes breakfast,Lunch and Dinner and drinks (local and soft drinks). Mid afternoon cakes are served around 5pm (but be quick they go like hot cakes!) If you have a fussy eater like my 13 year old, you can order food such as burger and chips at any time, or if you fancy a fry up for breakfast this can be ordered too, you will have to pay though 6 lira, approx £3. So even if your kids don't like the local food they don't need to go hungry. We booked 2 rooms to be together, but they were actually in another block, however the site felt safe enough for our children to still go on there own room. The rooms are basic but include TV, fridge and AC (which you don't have to pay separately for). Cleaned daily with fresh sheets and towels. The standard of living is much lower in Turkey, the bathrooms could all do with an update, black in between the tiles, but the sanitary ware was clean. Staff polite. The location of the hotel is really good, Olu Deniz is at the base of very high Mountains. Some people on our transfer bus were staying higher up the mountain and needed a taxi/bus ride down to Olu, as it was too steep a walk. We have about a 1 to 2 min walk down to the beach. A pedestrianised area runs along the sea front with the usual shops, restaurants, paragliding shops, souveniers and ice creams etc. You do tend to get badgered by the shops, but they are always polite and if you say no thanks and keep walking its no problem. We did 4 trips which we booked through the hotel, we got picked up at the hotel for each in an air conditioned bus, very easy. I would recommend the 12 island tour, you don't get to visit each island but do get a chance to jump off the boat for a swim at about 4 or 5 islands. The Jeep Safari was a long day but enjoyable, my 13 and 15 year sons loved it, make sure you buy a water pistol before you go on the safari. You can either drive a jeep yourself or a turkish guide will drive you, they don't check driving licences ! in fact there doesn't seem to be many driving rules that we noticed, anything goes! The Turkish Night was ok, toilets a bit grim. I woudn't recommend car hire unless you know where you are going as signposts and street names seem to be non existent. All of my family said they would go again, luxury it isn't, basic and good value it is.
A lovely beach at Olu Deniz. Make sure you visit The Blue Lagoon, just along the coast about 1 mile, pick up a bus which is very easy. The Lagoon is very safe for kids, no waves! Kayak or Pedalo hire.

Having been to Turkey on a number of occasions I found the Akdeniz Beach Hotel value for money, when booking, all inclusive was the same price as bed and breakfast so I booked with the intention of eating out.
The rooms were dated but very clean, the towels were changed every other day and so was the bedding.
Luckily we dont spend anytime round the pool because the sunbeds are a problem, there is not enough of them and the main bulk of english people have turned into Germans and put their towels out at about 2300 hours before they go to bed. This did cause some problems, but the hotel management did nothing to manage the situation.
The food was repetitive but ok, plenty of salad and value for money
All the staff work extremely hard for very little money and not much respect from some of the guests both Turkish and English.
The entertainment left a lot to be desired Gadget is that bad he is funny because he thinks he is so talented, but take it from me he is definately NOT.
There was a lot of English that spoilt this hotel by drinking from 11.00 in the morning until 2300 hours in the evening, shouting and swearing when there were small children about, as well as people who dont welcome this sort of behaviour.
Gemma behind the bar is very hard working, Ahmet on reception should be the Manager and not just the Receptionist as he is so helpful and cant do enough for guests.
Whilst on the beach we were given a leaflet by a guy called Falcon, after some persuasion we booked a night out through him to the Kings Restaurant in Fethiye, we were picked up and dropped back at our hotel the food was excellent and the evening entertainment (Turkish dancing) was also excellent, this was value for money the whole evening only cost approximately 30 lira. I would recommend this evening to everyone.
When going to Turkey bear in mind that the star rating is nothing like ours. I would visit this hotel again because you get what you pay for and it is value for money.
Nice beaches, watch oout for the Paragliders who do on the odd occasion stray onto the beach. Try the Rose Garden Bar large Efes 2.50 lira. All restaurants that we visited were good.

I went to turkey with my family on 30th july 2008 and we had a really good time the rooms were always very clean and the people at the hotel were really nice (amed, jon, gadget and more)the only thing we all didnt like was the food was repeatativeat the hotel and in the mornings it was a race to get a few sunbeds. We went to turkish night at the ghost town which was not very good because you didnt see much of the ghost town you just drove past it and the day after we saw the turkish night we had turkish night at our hotel with the same people which annoyed us because they did not tell us. There are many good excursions like the jeep safari was great it is worth going to because they give you water guns and you shoot eachother as you see the grand canyon(water is freezing),mud bath and other great sites. As you are going past you will get wet because people who are hosing there cars or some grass will spray you.Another great trip is ephuses and pumukalae because you get to see amazing historical landmarks. Do the 2day trip because otherwise you will have to squeeze everthing into one day and it is too beautiful to be hurried. The 12 island trip was good very hot but the only bad thing is that the 12 island trip is only five islands you stop off at but you only go on land onece the rest you can jump off the boat into the sea and snorkel. If you dont have any snorkels with you its ok there is a shop next door so you can buy one there. ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes BRING QUITE A BIT OF MONEY BECAUSE ITS NOT AS CHEAP THE AREA AS THEY SAY AND IF YOU DONT LIKE THE FOOD AT THE HOTEL THERE IS A REASONABLE PRICED GREAT RESTAURANT CALLED SUGAR AND SPICE WHICH WE RECONMEND TO OTHER HOLIDAY MAKERS.
I enjoyed it very much.
