I fully agree with the 2006 review of this Hotel by "Phil Jenny - Liverpool". However I have logged my review under the correct resort/area - Ovacik - whereas theirs is under Alanya (I know it's the same because they mention the owners "Ali and Jane").

I fully recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet base from which to explore the local amenities/attractions or just a big pool break in the sun that your kids will love.

OverallExcellent Resort

Ovacik is one of a few little resorts in the vicinity of Fethiye town - others being Oludeniz and Hisaronu. Ovacik and Hisaronu are on higher ground than Oludeniz & Fethiye which both have beach access. Oludeniz beach is fantastic and is where the famous Bl...

Overall our stay at the Leda was satisfactory. I'll try to be concise and simply list the good points and bad points.

Good points: Very large clean pool and good views, evening entertainment in the hotel, generally reasonably clean, everything was functional and worked well, cool air in higher location, unlimited buffet breakfast, friendly English speaking staff, air conditioning available (extra charge), hotel did represent very good value for money.

Bad Points: Rooms could be described as basic and dated, not up to 3 star standard. Location is a short walk up a very steep hill from the main road (not recommended for people with mobility problems) Hotel policy is that you do not consume your own food or drink in the hotel. Breakfast was a basic style with not much choice (the good stuff you have to pay for) Hotel food and drink prices way too expensive.

On the whole I would recommend the Leda as a good base and good value. The staff look after you well and the surroundings are quiet and beautiful. However it's a very long walk into Hisaronu (the main hub) so dolmus (bus) rides are necessary to get in and out of town. The room size, decor and furnishings were a bit of a let down though by UK standards.

Not much going on here, you need a bus ride in and out of town. Quite and cooler temperatures though.

Have just spent a most relaxing and enjoyable week at the Leda. The Hotel was highly recommended by Jewel in the Crown and we got an excellent last minute deal. Their reps at the resort were very nice, helpful and knowledgable about the area.

The Leda is in an excellent location as it is in a quiet spot up in the hills, with lovely panoramic views all around. But is only five minutes from the road where you can catch a dolmus to either Hisaronu (lots of bars, shops and some nightclubs and a market on Mondays), Fethiye (lots of good shopping, excellent seafood restaurants, lovely harbour and market on Tuesdays) or Olu Deniz(gorgeous beach, beautiful sunsets, bars, shops, etc).

The Hotel is very well run by the managers Ali and Jane. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and all seem to have pride in their work and can't do enough for you. The rooms are pretty basic but are spotlessly clean with good quality crisp white sheets and clean towels every day. Air-con is available for £3 per day and is well worth it.

The food in the restaurant and the pool bar is excellent quality , beautifully presented and prices are comparable with other restaurants in the area.

Everywhere in the hotel and grounds is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The gardens are very nice and the pool area is large with lots of sunbeds and parasols and a separate baby pool.

My husband went to the onsite barber for a hair cut, shave and massage and thought it was an excellent service to be recommended.

We would definitely return to this hotel next time we fancy going somewhere to wind down. But you can use it as a base for a holiday to be as lively or as relaxing as you want to make it.

After having our flight times changed four times, arrived at the leda hotel in the early hours. Went for lunch and was met by very happy smiling staff.

The rooms basic but kept very clean by the cleaning staff every day, after a day or two when you get to know the staff you will find they are game for a laugh. I would recommend the on-site barber haircut, hairwash, double shave, and a massage for 25 lira (8-9pound). Fantastic large pool lots of sunbeds and brollies, and great views of the mountains, nice gentle breeze keeps you cool.Try a day out on a boat you will love it. Dont bother with car hire dolmus cheap and cheerful.

Only one bad point, asked to keep the room until midnight(late flight)which was ok and paid £10, when i came to settle the bill on the last day i was charged £10 for the room, i explained i had already paid but the receptionist said no i had not, so i had to pay again, i felt i had been ripped off. I wonder where the £10 went?little things like this stop you returning there again.

All in all the hotel is in a nice location, quiet and peaceful. The staff 10 out ten.

Our first holiday to Turkey but not our last.Wonderful hotel, terific staff, views to die for,all in all a fantastic holiday.Ovacik very central to get around from dolmus run every few minutes at end of road cheap and comfy to use.Go into Fethiye and book a boat trip fabulous day out for £10 each and that includes pick up and drop off to your hotel and lunch mmmm barbcued fish and chicken!Hi-Light of my holiday seeing turtles swimming in Fethiye harbour very moving for me anyway!

Jeep safari also a must if you enjoy a fun day and dont mind getting wet and i mean very wet!Parasailing from Olu Deniz an expreience not to be missed even if getting back into speedboat afterwards is an art in itself!and one i do not possess!Turkish people are so friendly, kind and welcoming we could learn alot from them.

My advice is to get yourselves to this wonderful country and experience it for yourselves.
