We have just returned from a week at Hotel Tlos and had a very good value for money break. If you want 4 star luxury & food choices this is not the place for you, so don't go and then moan all the time, you get what you pay for. If you go to Turkey don't expect bacon - it is a muslim country & not everyone wants chips for every meal!! The staff here work very hard & it is they who make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are extremely basic but again if you book for a bargain don't expect the best! Other guests at this hotel can be the main problem with door slamming & little respect for others staying there & the constant moaning about the restaurant. However, didn't see too many empty plates or lack of bums in seats at mealtimes!! Overall if you want a cheap break in the sunshine this is the place to go on a budget.

just returned after a week in above. Absolutely terrible Hotel, how it can be advertised as all-inclusive is a joke. 3 suns again is very generous, if your a back-packer looking to lay your head somewhere for £10 a night, this will suit fine, otherwise the rooms are small, poorly decorated, some with not enough beds for the amount of people in them, dont take many clothes, because theres nowhere to put them, our warddrobe was 5 inches deep from the wall, there are no drawers to put clothes in,they are all extremely noisy and sleep through the night is nearly impossible, the ground floor rooms are the worst, suffering from the smell of the blocked sewerage.rooms overlooking the pool, suffer from the barside pool music until the early hours. The barside pool is the only bar in the whole place, the pool is lovely and the views fron the ELEVATED position is also breathtaking, the majority of the staff are very friendly, until you disagree about paying for everything that you thought is generally included in an all-inclusive deal eg .childrens food, pool table, childrens games room, ice-cream, alcholic drinks etc.theres also no refund on air-conditioning and safe deposit box keys on return, so take lots of money, because you will be eating out after the 1 st day.The restaurant is a wooden shack type building at the otherside of the pool, with continually open windows, no airconditioning and a sewerage pipe, that runs along the wall behind the salad and bread tables.the choice of food is salad and 1 cooked meal choice, whatever is left is usually brought back out the next day. The food is constantly standing for the 2 hour lunch or evening meal period without any refridgeration and always under attack from flys and wasps. Us and a number of the guests suffered with the inevitable stomach problems, some being bed ridden for a few days. the children did seem to avoid this as there was no childrens food for them anyway, you therefore had to pay to go into Hisaronu during the evenings to feed them. The dolmus service is exellent and the area felt very safe for families. Hisaronu is fantastic and has a variety of entertainment for all ages. The beaches are also fab and all the food we ate away from Tlos was lovely too. if youve paid next to nothing, then this hotel may be for you, if your paying all inclusive and expecting what most people expect from an all-inclusive resort then you will be heartbroken, as all the families that arrived during our week were.

OverallGood Resort

even though we stayed in ovacik this is a suburb of hisaronu which is a few minutes away by dolmus, we thought hisaronu and all the beach ares were exellent and would return to the area, but being careful what accomadation we booked.

pros
the tlos hotel pool area was very spacious, clean and tidy. the pool itself was great, very clean and good for sunbathing.the maid service was good our room was cleaned everyday to a good standard.the free transfers to the beach is good as it took you to the blue lagoon which is fantastic lovely warm water in a beutiful setting + being able to put your feet in the water while sunbathing(priceless)the nightlife and eating places in nearby hisaruno is very good, catering for all your nightime entertainment. the peking chiness restaurant is good value @ 5.80 (pounds) all you can eat from a fixed menu of about 12 main meals and the same for starters. also the dolmus service is a good idea, a dolmus would arrive every few minuites.

cons
on arrival at the hotel we were given our room number 101 which is ground floor right next to the reception, first impression was that we had been given a room that hadn`t been used for a long time, it had a musky kind of smell to it, the single beds had no legs and when you tried to lay on them you rolled of as they were not steady. (not good when you have had a few)after getting a few hours sleep (2 at the most) i had a look onto the balcony (hahahaha) first look was not good i first saw an old computer chair left right in front of the balcony half covered in grass (two feet tall)beside that was an old white plastic chair plus something else which i couldn`t really make out as it was nearly completely buried with the grass, the balcony itself is very small standing room only for two.

on trying to sleep the first night we were woken up at about two inthe morning with screams, yells, and loud laughing coming from the bar staff and girls staying in the hotel, not wanting to be killjoys we put up with it for another two nights on the trot, which we thought was reasonable having ask them to be a bit quieter on two occassions we were totaly ignored, next morning we asked to be moved away from room 101 and thankfully we were to a much better room altogether, it was bigger, cleaner, and had softer pillows and matresses.

my only concern with the dolmus minibuses were that the turkesh drivers were hell bent on getting as many people on board as they could(i counted 22 people on one bus, with an average off about 15 or so most times, they only had twelve seats)makes you wonder what traffic cops in britain would make of it!

food in the hotel was not very good, a very limited buffet was on offer and if you didn`t like chicken you were in trouble as they served chicken every day so you only had one choice left after that.

last day we were there we had left tips in the various tip boxes that were all around the hotel making sure every type of staff were given a tip as we had had a good holiday in the most part. an hour before we were leaving the bar staff, and the resturant staff hounded everybody whom was leaveing for more money non stop, which to say the least was embarrassing for everyone concerned, although they seemed to think this was okay, begging in front of everybody, no matter how much you told them that you had given all the different staff groups a tip they kept on and on and on until one guy lost his cool about something else concerning the rules on what he could get for his ";soft all inclusive"; which i have to say is ridiculess caused more arguments because people were getting confused as to what was inclusive and what wasn`t.
ps. hope gary and stehanie+ jane and donnaand the girls arrived home safe.
