**Warning*** do not go to this holiday village in sarigerme, turkey .. It is now under investigation for the 3/4th year running, for food poisoning etc, & unknown virus causing constant diarrhea,stomach cramps & worse! (Unbelievable this could happen but please believe me it is true .. Just research through google first & you will see for yourself) we spent 10 horrible days here after being assured by first choice before we went that there was nothing to worry about (if you speak to them even now they will deny there is a problem or anything wrong................) This all started just 36 hours ( the average time for people to become very ill ) of arriving at the holiday village, sarigerme turkey (hotel pegasos tropical on the 'orange' side) at first glance the hotel & grounds are spectacular but what lies beneath is anyones guess ! (Talk is that it was built on a swamp, but I don't know if this is a fact or not ? ) We were flown home 4 days early as both myself & my patner were so ill for 10 days with bad diarrhea & stomach cramps and feeling completely exhausted. We did not step foot out of the hotel front doors for our entire stay as we had to be close to a toilet & wouldn't of had the energy to do so anyway! There were many many other guests with the same condition, I would put the numbers over that 10 day period of at least 500 ... There is also a big problem there with children getting earache (which is being blamed on the poo in the swimming pools as people keep having accidents in because of the bad diarrhea) which I cannot comment on as I do not know any details of the earache other than there were lots of children with it ! If you are thinking of going my advice to you is do not go to this holiday village. & If you have already booked .......... Do not go to this holiday village.

DO NOT GO TO THE HOLIDAY VILLAGE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

Staff work 24/7 to keep grounds clean and that is about it. Food can be cold and uncovered. Pools constantly being closed because of "accidents", ear infections,tummy upsets constantly, people being taken ill constantly. DO NOT GO.

We only went out of the complex once to the market which was only a street nothing to shout about!

When I first arrived in the middle of the night the service was good the cases were taken to my room and we didnt wait too long before getting are keys. Unfortunatly we had booked a family room so it should have had a bath but we were given a disabled bathroom so the next day I had to ask for another room, with none available couldnt move rooms till the day after so we couldnt really settle until we moved.

Booked this resort (hotel) as travelling on my own with my son saw there was plenty of activities to keep him entertained and for the first 3 days that is exactly what happenened we used the childrens clubs although my 10 yr old commented is was a bit disorganised. The food was ok although the rush for the afternoon cakes was to be believed!

We reached are 4th day when my son started to feel unwell and we had an early night the next day we both came down with a stomach bug vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, servere stomach cramps and we ended up just sleeping all day the next day we were no better but made it out the room for water so asked a rep if anyone else was sick they said no, to cut along story short over the next few days asked several reps and most said there was not a problem with sickness it wasnt until the last few hours of the holiday when speaking to another holiday maker I found out the hotel was on red alert and the reps were taking details of people with D&V but you had to ask exactly for the form! So basically it was a big cover up!

Since returning home I have complained and found through another review website contact details of a lawyer which so far has had 130 people on there books with the same symptoms.

Unfortunatly my son continued to have symptoms even a week later so sent a stool sample off which has come back showing salmonella!

Only went into Sarigerme village once - not a lot there

We travelled to this hotel (blue side) from 18 Aug to 1 Sept.

First impressions were a very clean and spacious hotel with good facilities. We had a Jacuzzi Suite, which was quite roomy for 2 adults and 2 teenage girls. The maid service was efficient and the room was keep clean. Our air-con unit broke but was serviced promptly by the hotel (although it took 3 attempts to fix).

None of us enjoyed the food - unless it was cooked to order by the chef it was luke warm and salad's/bread/desserts were not covered from the flies.

One comment , which I haven't seen on other reviews, concerns the ridiculous flooring that is everywhere around the pool area and bars - all tiled surfaces which are absolutely lethal. Everyone was slipping everywhere and during the day when they were wet it was downright dangerous. Even the staff were walking tentatively - my daughter said you have to walk around as though you have 'wet yourself'. I saw many people with plaster casts on legs and wrists - I assume at least some of the them must have slipped over.

Entertainment - there is nothing for teenagers or adults. If you have children under the age of 12, I would assume that there is a lot for them to do as there are lots of children's activities. All entertainment is finished by 10.30pm unless you want to listen to the pub singer in the pool bar singing the same songs every night.

The pool area looks fantastic and I don't know much about pool management but I would guess that it is the root cause of a number of problems on site. I have never seen so many sick people in one place ever. I would guess could be a bacteria issue.

Sickness: I was ill with a BAD stomach bug for 4 days - exactly the same symptoms as described on other reviews. I then resorted to eating potatoes and rice and drinking bottled water (a very sober holiday). Everyone we spoke to had at least one person in their party - often all of them - suffering from the stomach bug. Around the hotel, there are alot of obviously ill people sitting around.

The other very common illness was ear infections. Both my daughter and her friend had it (£100 medical bill each) and there were many many children and adults with cotton wool in their ears. It got to the point where we were seeing newly arrived people enjoying the pool... and all you could think was oh dear - you won't be doing that in a few days.

I wouldn't go back to this hotel - it has some major problems.

Sanigreme is 5 min bus ride and is nothing to write home about.

great in relation that you can do as much or as little you you want. brilliant kids clubs, evening entertainment was good but there is nowhere else to go in the evenings. The food was of nothing to rave about but when they are catering on a grand scale of 2000 people approx, what else is there to expect. 2 people in our party suffered from tummy upset not sure if related to quality of food.

only went there a couple of times. Not really worth it.

First I'm going to say the bad stuff. First don't take LIRA, take Pounds or you will get ripped off as they dont want their own currency. Standard family rooms are not big. Ice Cream is free for 1.5 hrs a day from one place with a big queue. Some of the staff are rude and unhelpfull. Beach is as good as useless and town is a waste of time. Choice of drinks poor. Your experience will depend on which side, blue or orange, you stay on. You want Blue or Palace! Now the god stuff. We have stayed at the HV in Lanzarote and Majorca and as a total package the Turkey HV was the best. Food was excellent nearly every day and fresh. The entertainment was great, the kids club was great, the snacks were great, the cleaners worked hard, the pools were fantastic, we had no issues getting sunbeds and we went in school holidays. Al-la-carte restaurants weren't all that.

DONT MISS THE TURKISH NIGHT, BEST MEAL AND ENTERTAINMENT.

Lots of moaners on here and nit-pickers.

The town is small but the market on a sunday is very good. The only let down are the beaches which are completely unsuitable for children due to the fast currents and how quickly it becomes deep

Get a grip all you miserable people. You cannot fail to have a good holiday here. The hotel is spotless and i can certainly say that our family of 4 found the food wonderful. At breakfast there is everything from fresh fruit and yoghurt to freshly made omlettes, pancakes, cereal or full fried breakfast, toast you name it. At lunchtime you can get freshly made pizza from the snackbar, burgers, salad, chips, freshly made toasties etc, or you can again eat in the restaurant where the food is delicious. The food is certainly not warm as the food is cooked fresh in front of you and in the 2 weeks we were there i never had a warm meal. But you know what they say, some people are born to moan and you aren't going to please them no matter what you do.

There is a slight issue with the sunbeds but this is not due to the fact that there are few of them, just that some people were taking more than they needed.

The first choice staff work incredibly hard to make sure that there are plenty of activities for you to do during the day and the evening entertainment is very good. Recommend the panto.

The pools were fantastic and so were the slides, whoever left the review for august saying it was awful must have walked around with their eyes shut the entire time. We did have the dreaded ear infection but this was certainly not due to the lack of cleaning which is done there. When we were there there was also a case of poo in the pool. You cannot blame the hotel for this and since there are 16 other pools to choose from it wasn't a drama when they closed it.

There is certainly something for everyone here and i would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends without hesitation.

I would like to point out also that the 2 people who died from our hotel did not book the tour with first choice but with a company from sarigerme town. Common sense not to and stick to booking with first choice as there jeeps are a lot safer and you have the added benefit of insurance which you don't get by going cheaper.

All in all 10 out of 10 and pay no attention to misery guts and look forward to your holiday because it has certainly been the best holiday we have had so far.

WARNING On the return flight resist buying fast food at the airport - huge rip off!! couldn't believe Big Macs meals were almost £11.00 each and KFC bucket £33.00!!!!

Just returned from a great fortnight at the Caria.

Please be aware that upon entering Turkey there is a £10.00 per person visa charge. We were not aware of this and were lucky to have £40.00 in sterling on us. By the way it does not matter what currency you take as they take absolutely everything, on one occasion I paid in Lira and got my change back in Euros!!

We had a family room which luckily was on the 2nd level, as stated before the hotel is set in a hill and we did pity the people who were on the higher levels . The room was great and more spacious than expected. The maid was very efficient and cleaned every day, however mistook our loose change as a tip on the first day!!

The food was perfectly adequate as far as i was concerned, yes you got some strange combinations of food (sprouts at breakfast once) but I think some of the previous reviewers should realise that they are in Turkey and that the chips and chicken nuggets they feed their kids every night won't always be available.

The mainly Russian/ German guests are as rude as the other reviews say and although we started the holiday with typical British manners after a few days our elbows were flying with the best of them. Overall we found all staff to be friendly, the waiters and chefs can be a bit too friendly if you have young teenage daughters though!! One night the entertainment was a young chef being throttled by an irate father of a said teenage girl.

Whilst researching the area we came across the website Sarigerme.net, this does have some helpful information, however please be aware that despite its bold claims this is not an independent website but in my opinion affiliated or even run by Sarigerme Tours, the reason I suspect this after posting a comment on their forum about an equally popular rival Basket tours saying how good our trips had been my post was immediately deleted and my account cancelled. The trips are well worth doing as they are excellent value for money. Basket tours were extremely well organised and the tour guides Ken and Ali must be mentioned for making them informative interesting and fun. They also arranged the transfer to the airport for us for £20.00 - cheaper than Sarigerme tours.
