just home from the Caria Holiday Resort, 6th of October, we've been going to Turkey for 10 years now but I must say this was the worst holiday ever, Sarigerme has a Mosquito problem due the small river that is nearby. We were only in the town once for a meal, after the meal, which was enjoyable (at the ST REMOS) we ended up being eaten alive by the Mozzys. The Hotel which is situated half-way up the mountain, first impression OK, until you try to get to the room, we were lucky only 77 steps to ours. others twice as many. the staff were not unpleasent but as in all AI too busy to even smile. We found no problems with the food, only with the resturant itself, which had 4 A/C units never on, most uncomfortable. they did open the windows to let some air in but only the flys and mozzys came in. we ended being the meal. One item was the lack of washing the drinks glasses, which were sometimes dirty I ended up drinking Fanta as it was in disposable cups. I Forgot to mention the Wasps, several hives in the Hotel. Would I recommend this Hotel NO if you have already booked a holiday in Sarigerme, hope you have a good time, as the Mozzys and flys may be away on theirs. one last thing the beach is good try and get there, the Caria does a free mini-bus every hour and a cabin with free drinks and food.
Sarigerme is small only one street with a few resturants and shops, has a mosquito problem, due to the river. as I said before the Beach is the only redeeming thing. I would not go back to Sarigerme.

Just returned from a great fortnight at the Caria.
Please be aware that upon entering Turkey there is a £10.00 per person visa charge. We were not aware of this and were lucky to have £40.00 in sterling on us. By the way it does not matter what currency you take as they take absolutely everything, on one occasion I paid in Lira and got my change back in Euros!!
We had a family room which luckily was on the 2nd level, as stated before the hotel is set in a hill and we did pity the people who were on the higher levels . The room was great and more spacious than expected. The maid was very efficient and cleaned every day, however mistook our loose change as a tip on the first day!!
The food was perfectly adequate as far as i was concerned, yes you got some strange combinations of food (sprouts at breakfast once) but I think some of the previous reviewers should realise that they are in Turkey and that the chips and chicken nuggets they feed their kids every night won't always be available.
The mainly Russian/ German guests are as rude as the other reviews say and although we started the holiday with typical British manners after a few days our elbows were flying with the best of them. Overall we found all staff to be friendly, the waiters and chefs can be a bit too friendly if you have young teenage daughters though!! One night the entertainment was a young chef being throttled by an irate father of a said teenage girl.
Whilst researching the area we came across the website Sarigerme.net, this does have some helpful information, however please be aware that despite its bold claims this is not an independent website but in my opinion affiliated or even run by Sarigerme Tours, the reason I suspect this after posting a comment on their forum about an equally popular rival Basket tours saying how good our trips had been my post was immediately deleted and my account cancelled. The trips are well worth doing as they are excellent value for money. Basket tours were extremely well organised and the tour guides Ken and Ali must be mentioned for making them informative interesting and fun. They also arranged the transfer to the airport for us for £20.00 - cheaper than Sarigerme tours.
WARNING On the return flight resist buying fast food at the airport - huge rip off!! couldn't believe Big Macs meals were almost £11.00 each and KFC bucket £33.00!!!!

The caria holiday resort is brilliant. we just arrived back a couple of days ago.we travelled in a party of 4 adults, 2 of which had never left ireland before. the staff are very helpful and if they are unable to help they find someone who can. on arrival at 1am , a member of staff drove us up the mountain to our room on the 4th street, he carried all our baggage also.and arranged for a maid to come and make the pull out bed for us. the family rooms are an excellent size and air conditioned. be warned there are a LOT of steps in the reosrt and while we were prepared for these they are very hard work in the extreme heat , but the view makes it worth it!!!! the pool has plenty of loungers and umbrellas - although like any other hol u must be up early!!! animation team are fab!! there is an ampitheatre where the evening show takes place. food - lots of veg and salads, fruit and turkey lamb etc. bus to beach is very useful , goes regularly!!! at beach caria has own area - free loungers and all inc. beach snack bar a tractor and trailer runs from beach to village all day!! village has lots of nice shops. highly recommend sarigerme tours for booking ur trips( right hand side!) 12 islands tour great day out!! for eating out - u must go to paradise steak house far end of village - waiters brilliant craic. prices very cheap. market is good for bargains - quite pushy though!! but do haggle!!!! taxis up and down to village from hotel 10 lira each way. we got taxi from airport for 55 lira, more expensove going back - 80 lira!!!!! all in all fantastic weeks holiday. downside - the heat - it was 46 degrees in the shade!!!!!! lots of wasps on kaya bar terrace in evening. cafe turk balconey doesnt have any wasps!!!!!! would really recommend caria holiday resort - particulary as we got a brilliant deal!!! my parents who had never been abroad before loved every minute of it!!!!!! warning - toilets at beach are traditional turkish style - hole in ground!! be warned!!!

Just arrived back from 2 weeks at the Caria Resort with a sigh of relief. 2 adults and 2 children (one disabled). We were put on the 7th street but the rep was helpful in arranging for us to be moved. This did happen eventually after spending the full day out of our room (which was then given to someone else). Then having the manager (Serka) remove someones bags from our new room because they had not returned. To add to the issue they still had a key to our room.
Food - The food was terrible. We are not fussy eaters and can understand the traditionally Turkish breakfast but to serve cold meat and boiled eggs which had been laid out from 2am and also califlower and potato croquettes is not acceptable. The staff were very rude but not as rude as the Germans and Russians who do obviously do not have any manners and skip the queue and meal times (or as I liked to call feeding time at the zoo). The hotel sleeps 650 people but the only restaurant seats 350 (which i belive may be less). The pool bar ran out of beer and also Fanta for 3 days. The management of the restaurant and the hotel in general was a joke. My husband complained that much that the chef told him to be quiet and not to complain about the food. The standard of cleaniness in the restaurant was very poor. High chairs and plates were dirty.
The bus down to the beach and village is also an issue as it only runs every half an hour. When I say bus I mean 2 minibuses seating 14 each. When the bus is full they do not go to the beach and return to pick the other guests up. You are left on the bus in the extreme heat until they feel like leaving.
One note of caution is the man in the hotel shop who charges what prices he wants and the fact that he made us feel uncomfortable where our children were concerned especially the girls. Also the guy who takes photgraphs of the kids (especially the girls) without the parents permission and gets the pose for the camera. Maybe I am being a bit over sensitvie but this should not be allowed.
The animation team were the only members of staff who smiling and were great with the kids.
The only good points about this holiday were the views. The village was quiet and just an escape from the Caria. We met 2 lovely families on this holiday and if it wasn't for them and the great laugh we had the hoiday would have been a complete disaster.

Firstly before you book a holiday here this is definatly NOT 4 star. You are getting exactly what you pay for, cheap & cheerful! If you don't like hills/mountains & steps then do not go here, our room was on the 2nd to highest level and there were 177 very steep steps, the rooms were clean but basic just some where to get your head down really, the pool was clean & the waterslides were well maintained.... However the food would not be to every British persons taste, loads of people complained mainly because it was usually very cold and mostly repetitive ie what ever was served at lunch was then served again at dinner with a few vegetables added. Basically you need to find your own way around the hotel & surrounding village/beach, there is no info in English and although the staff try most are very busy...all in all for a last minute deal it was 5/10 but I wouldn't go back to that specific hotel. The area was very beautiful & very relaxing and you do get a taste of the real Turkey.
