The beach is in a cove which attracted waste (condoms and sanitary towels) i asked these to be cleared from the water this request was treated with a shrug of the shoulders.
It took over an hour for something to be done about this disgusting mess.
Another incident on the beach made us request a move.
One morning we looked down to the sea to see a white slick bubbling in the water.
Over the next hour nobody responded to this there were people still in the sea.
After an hour we were told that a painter had tipped paint down the waste pipe.It had bubbled up metres away from the beach. The hotels way of dealing with this matter was to send in a Jet ski and attempt to get rid of the slick, which did not work.
The pool is tiny and very heavily chlorinated.
A lot of people at this hotel were ill with stomach upsets, and some were admitted to hospital. We left the Adukule and transferred to the Suremi.
Two days later another six of our friends were struck down with illness at the Adukule.
The staff were not interested in our well being and this made our first trip to Turkey our last.!!

Holiday from 6th to 20th Aug 2006.... Well were do i start, after we entered the 5*Star hotel thought looks good... then it went down hill from there. The smell that hit us was of damp in the corridor leading to our rooms. The carpets in the corridor was all stained with black marks plus bleach stains. skirting boards were missing floors uneven. We entered our rooms they were big, but what a let down no balcony, mini bar was empty. bathroom full of mould. smelt of damp plus the air con did not work when it did it blow out hot air. Then started leaking causing the carpet to be soaking wet. We called the rep desk to change rooms they said that all rooms was full.
My daughter had to move rooms because the air con leaked that much the carpet was almost floating.... we had a window in the corridor next to our room that was the sewage from the kitchens i think and the laundry that was running freely from some sort ot metal doors the smell was unbelieveble. It made our eye's sting entering our rooms, some night. The swimming pool was to small for the amount of people in the hotel, it was like being on a dolmus. you had to get down early to get a sunbed. The best out of the holiday was the jetty on the beach, only problem was the bar closed at the beach at 5pm so was unable to gets drinks if you was still chilling on the jetty. Had to go to the pool bar that closed at 6pm, if after that time the Lobby that was a round trip of 20mins walking..... could not understand why they closed the beach bar and pool bar if the swimming pool bar did not close untill 8pm.
We had the sheets changed once in 2 weeks, my grandson was sick on his sheets they turned his sheet around.
The towels was changed after 4 days.
It was so hot in the hotel at night we had to keep getting up to have a shower.... Because the air con, after a day being out in the sun you just want to cool down to get ready to go out in the even, no chance of that. you'd be sweating before you even leave your room for dinner. The Lobby had air con but they did not put it on... I asked if they would put it on, they said no cause the windows was open so we said close the windows then... They just laughted. I've lost stone just from sweating.
Also stated a kids club well if you child is 2 to 3 year old they have got a area with slide and small building blocks and that's it. Nothing for older kids and it's on a high drop down if you child leans over the 3 foot fence that has benches next to it. Not safe in anyway... I could go on with problems with this hotel, but i think this will be anough for you to avoid. 10% English, 80% Turkish and 10% Germans/French family at this hotel.
We booked this 5*Star hotel because we had 3 birthdays and a 25th anniversary in our stay there, between 2 familys of 8.We paid alot of money for this hotel, and got a poor standard I would at a push rate it 3*Star... well I won't forget this holiday. Glad were back home but need another holiday to get over this one. I'm not a moaning English person as I'm married to a Turkish Guy. This is the worst hotel we've been to in the 18 years we've been going to Turkey... It needs a major re-vamp 200%.
I've taken many photo's of the hotel and the room you would not like whay you see i promise you that. Turkey is great but not this hotel stay clear of it.

Just back from the Adakule Hotel in Kusadasi. We were a bit worried having read some of the reports but we had a great holiday. Flew with Omur Airline not as bad as some reports so no complaints there.
THE ROOMS.
TIP. Ask by e-mail for the 4th, 5th or 6th floor. these are the better rooms by far, we spent the first night on the first floor and it was a bit rough so asked to change and was moved to 6 floor with sea view. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room so take along a kettle if you like a cuppa in your room.
The mini bar is a small fridge with 2 beers and 2 water in when you arrived but it is not stocked up again.
THE FOOD
The food was fine, there was always plenty of but sometimes only one choice of meat course in the main resturant but loads of salads, soups and sweets and cheese. You will never go hungry. In the main restaurant it is all Buffet style and you can sit inside or outside.
On our second week there was an increase in the selection of main course with chefs cooking something different outside every night. You can visit a separate small terraced A-la Carte restaurant (Italian on Tues and Thurs and Seafood on Mon,Wed and Fri)There did not appear to be any limit as to how many nights u could use used this restaurant but u need to book at least the day before at Reception. It was the same menue on both nights that we visited but it was very nice and well presented with set table and waiter service.
THE PHOTOGRAPHERS
The photographers wander all the time snapping away and small photos are pinned on their notice board in the reception lounge, you dont need to buy and its fun having a look every day. They take some excellent shots and if you want to buy any they are 4 euro each for large size which is very reasonable. You can buy one photo or the lot. If you really fancy getting a selection of posed pics they will do this in a matter of 15 mins and the very popular pics is the Sunset shots from the terrace you have to book them in advance as the sun sets extremely quickly. Again you are not charged for the photo shoot but can buy any of the pics at 4euro each.
ENTERTAINMENT
The evening entertainment at the Pool Bar was dire, we didnt bother much with it. The kids entertainment looked better. There was a live Band playing on the main restaurant terrace during evening meal and they were very good
POOL and BEACH
Take or buy towels in the town as the beach towels they give you are not big enough to cover the sun beds (unless you manage to get 2 each).
We grew tired of the pool, quite noisy and a bit clostrophobic so we used the Beach/Jetty most of the time, much nicer.
THE BARS
One in the main reception where you can sit inside or on the Terrace very nice. One at The Pool, One on the Beach and one in the Disco - apparently the Tower bar only opens in the winter season
The lobby bar shuts at midnight and the disco shuts at 2am, there is no longer a 24 hour bar but you can stock up on your drinks at the disco and sit out on the terrace as long as you want. We read a number of comments regarding the limited alcoholic drinks available but we found it perfectly adaquate considering it is all inclusive and you can consume as much as you want until 2am. If you can drink Vodka / Whisky / Gin / Brandy / Lager Beer / White or Red Wine plus the odd other beverage then you will have no complaints about the Bars - There is always plenty soft drinks and the tea /Coffee machine.
TRANSPORT
It costs 1.5mill Lira (appx 65 pence) to get into town from the front of the hotel.
Lira or euro is needed for the local bus but most things are priced in euro or in english pounds in town and these are the preferred monies, in fact they refused lira at one stall in the market (Wednesdays).
The ancient City of Ephesus is only about 10 mile away, we caught a Dolomus bus outside the Hotel that took us as far as Adaland then another straight to the Site entrance.Found out later that we could have got one bus that would have dropped us off on the main road with about 300 mtrs to walk to the entrance Entry fee is about £7 each so including the bus fares it came to about £18 for two. It is certainly worth seeing. When you get off the bus at Ephesus there will no doubt be someone ready to offer you a free trip to the start point which they will tell you is 4K away the catch is that you have to go via a carpet shop and a jeweller. We did not accept and just went in the lower entrance and up to the top and back a nice and interesting walk. There is a small gift shop and cold drinks / ice lolly stand about the middle of the site (normal prices)We decided to try the one bus journey back to the Hotel and walked the 300 mtrs to the main road a pleasant walk and there is a restaurant at the end where you can sit for a beer.
NATIONALITIES
UK Tourists are in the minority at the Adakule and you best get used to a severe lack of common courtsey and manners where the majority of German and some other nationalities are involved although we did meet one polite elderly German couple at the Hotel and one nice German lady at Ephesus - but that was it.
NEW SPECTACLES
If you wear glasses and are thinking about getting a new pair then try Lara Optik an Optician who has a small shop in the main reception of the Hotel with his main shop in town. An excellent high quality extremely fast and friendly service with a great range of frames. The quality of the lenses and workmanship are far superior to that available in the UK. You can take a prescription with you or if you have recently had a pair made and just want another then they are able to duplicate the prescription from your current lenses. They are also happy to take you to see a specialist eye doctor in a private Hospital in town to get a new prescription if required. We were not charged for this.
SUMMARY
All in all we were delighted with our holiday and would be quite happy to stay at the Adakule again (6th floor room 606.)we made some very good friends both Scottish and English and had a great laugh which added to our enjoyment. Tip if booking this holiday phone Vision Holidays directly as you may get a much better deal than simply booking online.

Recently back from a 2 week stay at the Adakule - Kusadasi.
Found the hotel to be clean and spacious with very nice Turkish food. It has a good pool but you have to get up early to book your sun bed. There is a beach area which offers a bit more space and is less of a problem with getting a sun bed. There is also a deck area into the sea which is also nice but there is no shade at the sun beds here ( a good place for sun worshipers). The Tuborg beer was fine and the all inclusive bars supplied Scotch Whisky which was a nice bonus. Kusadasi town is just a 10 minute dolmus ride (1.5 lira). (Or 5 Euro by taxi) ask the taxi price first as they always say 10 Euro, then drop to 5 as you walk away!
I wasn't overly impressed by Kusadasi town, bar street consisted of a handful of allegedly Irish bars which were always very noisy and empty. The shop keepers and waiters were overly pushy and annoying compared to other Turkish towns we have visited.
Ephesus is well worth a visit, went to Ismir for day ....don't bother, it is really ugly, hot and crowded, it all looks like a gigantic barras.
The bad points were:
The feeble air conditioning, which is really ineffective and only works part time.
The free mini bar was a joke, consists of a warmish fridge with 2 cans of beer and some bottles of water which does not get replenished!
There is a broad mix of nationalities mainly Dutch, Bulgarian, Scots, Irish, English and German, but found that majority English people encountered just wanted to moan, about not having bacon for breakfast, etc etc.
The evening entertainment was really bad. Go once for the experience and don't go back!
Our flight was with Onur Air who only recently got their licence back to fly into Europe.
The worst airline I have seen, the flight attendants were clueless, tickets for non-existent seats were issued in both directions causing seating chaos and delays. The food and coffee were awful, no video screens or audio. Staff were still wheeling around a trolley of duty free goods as the plane landed at Glasgow. Avoid is possible.
