Returned from a 2 week stay in The Atinch with Thomas Cook, very helpfull, excellent flights on time and good transfer. Hotel excellent positioned on sea front, very clean and helpfull staff. Had to pay for air-con £42.00 for 2 weeks, but essential. Also upgraded to sea view well worth it, as all the other rooms look towards a concrete jungle. Breakfast basic,eg.Boiled Eggs every day, no toast, rep said they could not afford it (some hope).

kUSADASI is a very untidy sprawling city, very spread out, and in need of an overhaul, it is like walking through the back streets of Manchester on a Saturday, all concrete jungle. The main road runs through the town, with all the traffic fumes at your side, not pretty. The people drive you mad with the bantering, learn to say going home today, to get rid of them.

The harbour area is ok but pricey for fish, get a price before you eat the fish. All the other restaurants cook the same food, very cheap and cheeerfull, ate in the Mayflower as the girl is Irish and helpfull, also Casablanca and the one on the alley walk with the trees all lit up. Not much music bars for oldies. Had to get to beach every day on bus, loved Silver Beach, Long Beach you can use the pool there, (lovely quite beaches the only thing I liked about Kusadasi)Went to National Park on bus take a picnic, good large area and benches for picknicking, lovely water for swimming, but all the locals go there at week-end,avoid.

Went to Ephesus, very hot, cheaper to get a taxi and buy a guide book, the virgin Mary house was good, but doubt she was there.

Conclusion_ Prefered Ishmelar not as much hastle, but giving Turkey a miss now.

Having spent a wonderfull honeymoon in Kusadasi 10 years ago.we decided to return this year for a visit. we had always promised ourselves that if we re-visited then we would want to stay in one of the hotels opposite the harbour,as the views are spectacular, we have booked several holidays online and never been dissapointed, always do lots of "homework" on the hotels etc as we did with this hotel. We saw that it was listed as a 4**** deluxe hotel right in the centre of Kusadasi, just what we wanted....but not what we got!!!4**** it might have been when it first opened its doors. but not worthy of more than a 2** hotel. We had requested a front seaview room, and had an e.mail confirming our request....however when shown to our room we were so annoyed, firstly, the decor, it appeared to be rather "tired and dated"..the net curtains on the windows looked like they hadnt been washed since they were first hung up,the view was overlooking a load of dirty old appartment blocks....we went to reception straight away, and got the usual reply.." we dont have any other rooms available with seaview" and always said with a smirk.4**** it might have been to Turkish standards, but it was not to ours. After a call to Kusadasi Online we told them unless we were given a better room then we would leave and not pay,to be honest, a call from them to the hotel manager seemed to do the trick, and the next day we were given a better room with fantastic views of Kusadasi, curtains in this room were just as dirty, but the room itself was good. The food at this hotel is diabolical, utterly disgusting!!! On our first morning there i went to have a look at what was on offer, there was the usual Turkish fare of salads/chesses/tomatoes etc....dont know why! most people in the hotel were British......there was always boiled eggs, and whatever was left over from the previous evenings meal mixed in with scrambled eggs.I had a look at the scrambled eggs and was almost sick. it was all conjealed and had peppers/mushrooms etc added. i called the chef over to ask him what it was...he replied quite proudly." scrambled eggs with sausages"...when i showed him it and told him it looked utterly disgusting he didnt seem to understand English!!!! the butter for the bread was way past its sell by date by 4 months, it tasted awfull. again i spoke to the chef about this. but he tried to palm me off with a story that it was okay to use up until 1 year. on day 2 my husband decided to have muesli for beakfast...bad move!! the muesli was crawling with ants...people had already eaten this stuff.... talk about "bush tucker trial"and my hubby is no celebrity!! the waiter took it away only to bring it back out again soon after, the thing was the staff didnt seem to feel any shame or embaressment.after this we didnt eat in the hotel, we are only telling you about the breakfast...I dont want to make you sick by telling you what the dinners were like, leave it to your imagination best that way!!and we did go and speak to the manager about the standards of the place, how he could say that this hotel is in the top 3 every year beats me..the thing is it could be a lovely hotel. it had a lovely 6th floor terrace with superb views, lovely tables /chairs....guess what? it was never used I asked about this and was told that the management had been talking for 3 months about using it as an outdoor dining area....perhaps it will get used when the snow is lying on the ground and everyone is wearing their winter coats!!All in all the Atinc is a big letdown, especially when you think it is advertised as a 4**** deluxe Hotel....the only good things about it are its location, right beside the harbour and shops/restaurants....but apaert from that DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY staying there!!apert from all that we had a wonderfull holiday in Kusadasi as its a brilliant place to visit, the shops/bars/restaurants are fantastic, so to are the people.we will return again but to the HOTEL ATINC
