What can I say about this hotel but WOW. It's the only 7* hotel in the world and once you have stayed there you will know why. We decided to book this for 4 nights following a week in the Maldives and thought that if we didn't like Dubai, at least we've stayed in the best hotel there.

You will be amazed at the size of the suites. They are duplex suites with a hallway, sweeping staircase, office area, 4 person dining table and huge TV with lounge area including chaise lounge. We were about in the middle of the hotel (12th floor) and the views were fabulous. The upstairs has a large twin sink bathroom with 2 person shower, jacuzzi, seating, toilet and bidet. There is a dressing area and a large bedroom with large 3 piece suite sitting area also. The curtains are remote control and all lights around the suite have 3 or 4 stage dimmers to them.

We were on a BandB basis and you certainly do not need to eat a lunch following the extremely large choice buffet breakfast offered. This included fillet steak etc.

The good thing about this hotel is that you can use the amenities of all the other hotels in the chain and you will get taken to the local ones by a golf buggy which is extremely useful as it's far too hot to walk around in the 42 degree heat. Staying at the Burj, you have ";access all areas"; and just need to give your suite number to the gate security people.

The restaurants are extremely expensive but well worth it especially Al Maraha then one underneath the hotel - you are looking at £90 a head.

The service is impeccable and because it was our wedding annivesary while we were there, we had a bouquet of roses, a chocolate cake and an invitation to the manager's cocktail party.

Overall, an experience to be had at least once in your lifetime. It's certainly somewhere we are goingn to go to again.
