It was our second visit to Dubia and although wanting to be on Jumariah beach we did not want to be near the construction (Hilton) We made for the Dubia Marina and what a choice we made Its at the beginning of Jumeriah. Firstly we got 7 nights for the price...
It was our second visit to Dubia and although wanting to be on Jumariah beach we did not want to be near the construction (Hilton) We made for the Dubia Marina and what a choice we made Its at the beginning of Jumeriah. Firstly we got 7 nights for the price of 5 and if you shop around this is easy to come by.
We flew with KLM and again could not fault this. It is much cheaper than Emirates from Newcastle. The hotel from tha airport is only a £4 taxi ride (very cheap) and is just off the long road that leads to Jumeriah Beach and is within easy walking distance of shops Malls etc (unlike the Hilton)
The Hotel did not disappoint us and it truly a 5 star. There are 7 restaurants on the complex, Mexican, Lebanese, Italian, japanese, French,Thia and a bedowin type one, The mexicans has a proper Pub type bar where you can also get drinks and no food and there are several other out door bars. The Italians is right on the edge of the complex and its would cost a fortune to have the view over the sea it has when eating a meal. Prices are similar to UK on average, and good portions.
We were BB and the buffet style breakfast was superb. Through the day the beach is to die for with a small cove. But there are plenty of beds both on and off the beach (with matress) with really good waiter service. A point to note is that meals served at lunch on the beach are huge and 1 does 2 people
The rooms are normal for this area with the normal facilites but no verandas.(shame) and the surroundings of waterfalls and trees and walkways are ideal. A big point is that they have 2 housekeeping times am and about 5 pm where they make the beds after your siesta. Be warned to put a ";do not disturb"; sign on the door.Also the housekeepers alter the air con so i just left a note on it ";do not alter air con"; so it was nice and cold on return. We went in May and tempearure was 38-40 and the water was about 30-35 Difficult to cool off at times.
The gold sousse is a must but there is too much choice it took us 3 days to buy a diamond and you can drive them really low. We bought a 1.57 carrot with VS2 Clarity and J coluur for £2000 less than UK. Just do your homework before you go, Electric goods and cloths all much cheaper All in all one of most relaxing and enjoyable holiday where oppulance is the norm.
I would reccomnet this to anyone. It is on our list of returns
