we stayed here april 08 having stayed in the jumeriah beach hotel may 07. What a contrast, We actually stayed in the Oasis Tower which was very nice a large 2 bed apartment,The location is awful the oasis beach hotel is rubbish. We had to use the hotels facilities, I have been to better hotels in Benidorm. The pool bar staff were very rude and arrogant, on fridays and saturdays they open up as a public beach club, so anyone not a hotel resident can simply pay to use the facilities at the weekends. Gets very busy very rowdy lots of young people coming in getting drunk, the come in and throw the towels off the sunbeds to use for themselves. The Oasis hotel is getting a full refurb in Dec 08, but the location is still rubbish. Be careful if you plan to stay in the Oasis beach Tower during this period because you wont have any facilities to use probably up until April 09. I do love Dubai, great weather , good food. But their is only one place to go and thats up the coast towards The Jumeriah Beach Hotel. It cost me about the same amount of money to stay at oasis tower as did the year before at jumeriah beach hotel. Biggest mistake I have ever made, I hated every day we spent around that dirty pool at Oasis beach Hotel. Its funny reading peoples reviews praising this hotel. I come from Liverpool , Im no stuck up snob. But I know good service from bad service and I know a good hotel from a bad one. I enjoy my holidays and a lot of thought goes into booking one, the oasis was on a recommendation from a friend........

Please go to Dubai but stay away from the marina, far to much building work going on.

This is my honest opinion fron 2 visits to Dubai , it wont be my last.

Stopped off in Dubai for a week after spending 2 weeks in Thailand and what a difference. The heat in August is almost unbearable but the fact that there was a swim up bar made up for it. The hotel was really nice and we could't fault the food, they had a different theme each night like Chinese, seaford etc. The breakfast is lovely, theres so much to choose from and you can eat as much as you like.

The rooms are very nice and cleaned regularly. The only problem was the building work outside the room. We had an inland view so I would recommend paying for a sea view as they work throughout the night. It isn't a big deal though.
The drinks at the hotel, like everything else are very expensive. We went out a few nights to the Hardrock Cafe which was good if you enjoy live music, and also the Irish centre which is worth taking a taxi too.

We never went on many excursions but if you do any it has to be the Jeep Safari. Its a great evening out going over the sand dunes in a jeep then camel rides and sand surfing then watching a belly dancing show. Very entertaining.
The shopping is great and you can pick up some real bargains if you venture out, if not then the Emirates Mall is a must. It has every shop you can think of. There is a free bus from the hotel that will take you to different malls.

I wouldn't be in any hurry to go back to Dubai at the moment but when all the building work is finished it will look fantastic. You have to try it once though

We have just returned from our trip to Dubai. The weather was fantastic, you couldn't ask for more. The Emirate people are very polite and friendly, although there are not many of them. The hotel itself had really good facilities. The room was really nice and cleaned every day, with fresh towels and linen. The food was quite poor, with no choice for children at all. However, there are plenty of places to eat out, with all your normal McDonalds, KFC, TGI Fridays etc etc. The prices of drinks in the hotel are very expensive, but buying in the supermarkets is really cheap. We paid 36 Dirhams (approx £5.00) for 2 bottles of water in the restaurant, were you can buy 6 bottles of the same size for 6 Dirhams in the supermarket. The taxis are really cheap. Some are meter based and some drivers just quote you a price, which ever you choose the prices don't vary that much. The shopping malls are fantastic, with every shop you can think of. The prices were pretty much the same as ours however cigarettes worked out at 6.50 for a pack of 200. A bargain if you're a smoker. I also bought a diamond ring which when I came home was valued over four and a half times the amount I paid for it.

Dubai is definitley a place worth visiting. It is a very wealthy place that has a lot of class.

The only bad thing I can say about Dubai is be very careful if you are taking cash!
We had ALL of our cash stolen out of our bedroom whilst we slept in bed on our very first night! Nothing else was taken, not the camcorder, or camera or jewellery. The hotel were not very helpful, and the police even less helpful. When I asked the duty manager if I could ring the insurance company from the reception, she advised me that because they had swiped my credit card when I checked in, they knew I was credit worthy and that I would have to use the telephone in our room. When I checked out I received a bill for the call which was 434 Dirhams (approx £70).
So for this reason alone, I would not isit the Oasis Beach Hotel again.
However, even after that trauma, it could not possibly put you off visiting Dubai

The Oasis Beach Hotel is a very good value for money holiday. You get a good standard of half-board food which is included in the price and the hotel is well-equipped and well-run.

Restaurants:

SINGAPURA
Really good oriental food. Try the Thai Duck Salad.

OREGANO
Medicore Italian restaurant. Food is a bit hit and miss. Avoid the veal. Portions are huge.

BUFFET RESTAURANT
Avoid if possible. The usual buffet fare slop. Some people love this of course, but we're not into 20 different foods on one plate.

Bars:

PIANO BAR
Overly-pretentious open-plan bar with twinkly piano playing. Makes you feel 100 years old spending time in there.

CHARLIE PARROTS
Weird. Music so Eurotrash.

Beach:

Really, really good. Bottles of ice-cold Perrier delivered to your sunbed. Water very warm (32 degrees).

Pool:

Can be noisy and over-crowded due to the mahoosive pool bar. Avoid on a Friday when the work crowd descends.

Building works:

They never really bothered us at all. I used to bob about in the water, look at all the construction and thought it was amazing. A sea-view room is a must and you won't hear a thing.

first time to dubai wow what a place. travelled with emirates airline amazing.

Stayed on jumeriah beach area the 4 star oasis beach hotel this hotel is fantastic staff cannot do enough to make your stay the very best stayed half board food amazing plenty to choose from and four restaurants, especially Singapura far east cuisine excellent food and service also bazaar plenty of choice cooked freshly in front of you Hotel on the beach the sea is like a warm bath you wont beleive it. large swim up pool bar and jacuzzi. The rooms large and very comfortable shoppers paradise.

Try a visit to the Karama and haggle for bargains the hotel has a free shuttle bus service into different parts of town the shopping malls gold souk and spice souk they will drop you off and return to pick you up at a set time. Remember their weekend is Thurs/Fri so many places close check with the hotel or driver before you board.
You will pass the Burj Al Arab the only seven star hotel in the world its an amazing sight.

The Oasis beach is more like a five star hotel and we had the most amazing time.
