My husband, myself and 4 of our close friends travelled to Dubai in October 2005 at a cost of nearly £4,000 to celebrate my 50th birthday. We all absolutely loved Dubai and could not fault it in any way but the service we received from the holiday company (Dream Dubai - a subsidiary of Dream Ticket based at Selsdon Travel Limited in Croydon, Surrey) was disgraceful from beginning to end. We booked into the hotel of our choice but found it was suddenly ";unavailable"; and we were put somewhere else. The hotel we eventually ended up in which was the Sheraton Deira was a nice enough hotel but by no stretch of the imagination was it 5-star (which is what we had paid for) as stated on the Dream Dubai web site.
When we got home I complained to Dream Dubai and it took them 112 days just to reply to my letter. Eventually they offered us ";as a gesture of goodwill"; £40 per person off our next holiday with them, when I explained that there would NEVER, EVER be another holiday with them and requested that each person in the party received the sum of £40 in cash so we could choose our own travel company they refused and they have ignored every letter of complaint I have sent to them since. To sum up, Dubai is a fantastic place for a holiday.
