Santa Barbara is nice, the weather makes this place very special indeed. The main street is filled with good shops and bars, it's a good twenty minute walk down to the beach and the pier.

Santa Barbara is nice, the weather makes this place very special indeed. The main street is filled with good shops and bars, it's a good twenty minute walk down to the beach and the pier.

The beach was suprisingly dirty and the quality of the water left a lot to be desired, I was surpised that such a high quality town wouldn't invest heavily in the quality of the beach. One of the other bad points was the amount of homeless people and beggars, they were everywhere and even though not aggressive they can make you feel uneasy. The Yanks are a funny lot and seem to think that they are the only country in the world but once you engage them they do open up.

Make sure you eat at Arigato Sushi, unbelievable!!

I stayed here on a business trip and have to say that I loved it. The rooms aren't huge in size but they have great facilities and a good level of comfort. Compared to hotel rooms in Britain they are fantastic! The TV's are huge and the little things are...
