We've been to this hotel twice now first in nov 05 then nov 06 and were going again nov this year. I can honestly say that we really enjoyed this hotel its clean friendly and the staff are great. Your just off i-drive but its a 2 min walk, either end of the hotel there is resturants and an evening pirate show opposite tgi fridays 30 seconds up the road. But beware there are two fairfields this one on i-drive and one further up by disney. We've done all the parks first time we did disney and typhoon lagoon water park which is fantastic, and we did 3 days of universal/adventure island. The second time we did universal sea world and busch gardens which i might add is poorly signposted off the freeway once you get into tampa bay there are no directions what so ever so if we went again we would get the free bus from sea world saves alot of hassle. We found the wallmart its fantastic puts are supermarkets to shame, and the malls are great you can easily get lost in there.I can't wait to go again this time neither can my family.
We enjoyed what we saw of orlando we were mainly in the parks

this was our first trip to disney so it had to be the trip of a life time and being honest it was! The hotel was great and except for some confusion about location which turned a 45 min trip into a 4 hours trip to the hotel it was excellent. the free breakfast was perfect we espescally loved the waffles and the cakes. fruit was provided for healthy people and if you got there early it was empty. get the late however and the queues are long.

First time to Florida and we had the time of our lives. Already saving for our second trip.
Had problems with a passenger having a heart attack on the outward flight which resulted in a diversion and a night in a Hotel in Canada (luckily he was OK). The Virgin personnel could not have done enough, put us all up in Hotels and collected the tab for evening meal, breakfast and even a couple of beers. A temperature of -32 Deg and not the Florida sunshine was a bit of a shock! In addition Virgin re-embursed us for the lost night, free phone cards and discount on any future Virgin holidays.
Hotel:
We had a suite with a king size bed and sofa bed for our two girls, plenty of room, two large TV's, microwave, coffee machine (re stocked every day), fridge ideal for keeping the Bud cool for a night cap after a hards day fun. Towels changed daily and bed linen three times a week. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nothing flash, but adequate with continental style and sets you up for the day, much better than having to drag yourselfs onto the I drive to the cattle market and breakfast buffets at Ponderosa etc? Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate machine available 24/7 much appreciated. Did not spend to much time around the hotel as we where out most day's, did return on numerous occasions before venturing out for dinner to enjoy the heated pool and spa to relax, towels avaliable pool side and staff more than happy for your soaking wet bodies to be dragged through the reception area.
Parks:
Done them all except Bush Gardens and Typhoon Lagoon which was seasonally shut for repair's etc. Would take me to long to go through them all however our fav's where:
Seaworld- Shamu and Blue Horizons, shows nearly turned a grown man to tears a must! Good kids area for the litle ones with mini rollercoaster, Kracken good first rollercoaster for the older ones's (must do front row, much different experience).
Disney MGM - Tower of Terror, Aerosmith rollercoaster. Girls enjoyed High School Musical and Beauty and the Beast shows
Extreme stunt show very good and evening fantasmic firework show is out of this world.
Universal Island of Adventures.
Our personal fav. Hulk, duelling dragons, Spiderman, Rip Saw falls and Jurrasic Park ride great for the older one's. Girls enjoyed the mini roller Unicorn and the Seuss Landing area.
Eating out:
Meals for four much cheaper than in the UK. Watch out for the size of helpings (made that mistake first night) share a starter and side order salad, still results in plenty for all. Best meals at Olive Garden (Italian great prices), Fish Bones (seafood and steaks/ribs, more expensive however all cooked on a open log fire grill, really nice) and finally Tony Roma's (American ribs etc). All do seperate child menu's and does not always have to be burger and chips with corn on the cob, grilled fish/chicken and fresh veg a regular option.
Shopping:
Best shopping is at the largest mall Florida Mall (spent a whole day there). seek World of Denim for jeans (loads of outlets on I-Drive) Large Nike, addidas and Reebox outlets at Premium Outlets at the top of I-Drive. Nintendo DS, jeans, footwear and clothes all great buy's and half the price of the UK.
Seek Wall Mart for you supplies and great place to pick up a cheap buggy for taking the kids around the parks and a suitcase to fill up with all your bargains for the return trip.
Great time of the year to visit, weather still nice and warm with the odd cloudy day and occasional showers. The lack of people means little or no wait for rides and attractions. Weekends do get a little busy with the locals visting however the longest I waited at the popular Magic Kingdom on a Sunday was fifteen minutes.
Flights where half full, on the return trip we all had a four seat row and was able to streach out and sleep (much to the annoyance of upper class!). I upgraded my car to a large 4X4 jeep which I was sad to let go, make sure to name drop Virgin as it results in a much cheaper upgrade.
Cannot wait for a return trip.

We have just got back from the holiday 'dreams are made of!' We loved every minute of it. The hotel was lovely, clean, spacious and full of very friendly staff (apart from one lady behind reception). The breakfast each morning was of a good standard and had a range of different food for you to chose from. My partner loved making home made waffles each morning. After reading some reviews of the hotel before we went I was rather worried we may not get a seat for breakfast, however we did not find this to be a problem. We also took fruit and cakes up to our room to eat when we returned from the theme parks in the evening.
In our room we had a coffee maker, fridge, microwave, TV, alarm clock etc. The bed was REALLY comfortable which made it hard to get up early in the mornings for the theme parks!
We tried to separate our holiday so one day we would visit a theme park and the next would be a more relaxing day (Blizzard beach, Typhoon lagoon perhaps). We found this meant we were never too knackered!
Each day you will have to visit the MEARS transportation office which is just next door to the hotel to collect your free transportation tickets. One lady named Sonny was extremely helpful and friendly, she gave us lots of advice about what to do and where to go during our stay. She recommended us to eat at the Bahama Breeze (a nearby restaurant). We must say it is well worth a visit, the food is delicious, but be warned the portion sizes are HUGE (ask to take home any food you cannot leave as most people do).
If you are wanting to get transportation to the disney water parks or downtown disney the hotel coaches do not take you there free of charge. The best way to get there is to get the hotel bus and get off at the first stop. Then get any disney bus to a disney resort hotel and pick up a bus to your final destination from there. This can take a bit of time but at least it gets you there for free and you get to see some disney hotels at the same time!
We walked to the Premium Outlets up the road which took about 10-15 minutes. If you are shopping at night it is best to get a taxi back to the hotel as the pavement is not lit that well and it can be a little scary!!! Taxi costs $5-6.
Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay at the Fairfield Inn and LOVED Disney (we are already planning on spending our honeymoon there)! If you are coming here you are very lucky and make sure you treasure every minute as it will go by sooo quick!
