Sheraton Safari / Clearwater Beach Hotel reviews (1-5 of 11)
Stayed in Safari Suite which was well worth the extra £350 as it provided us with a lounge area with TV, small kitchen area with fridge and microwave and dining area. Maid service was excellent - beds made every day, clean towels, shampoo, soap etc.

Breakfast in the hotel excellent value - kids eat free with paying adult. Buffet style -everything from cooked breakfast to pancakes and syrup.
Plenty of good value local restaurants.
Sizzlers just to the right of the hotel excellent breakfast buffet and dinner buffet in evening.
Other great restaurant include CC's Pizza which the kids loved. Four of us eating for $20 including refillable drinks. (Ask at Reception in Hotel for money off vouchers). Chilli's was also another great eating place - there's loads to choose from within walking distance.
Disney was amazing - kids loved Magic Kingdom/Animal Kingdom best - rides are just out of this world! Blizzard Beach was amazing. Sea World amazing! MGM amazing! Epcot amazing! Seeing is believing. Bought Disney passes in UK via website (on-line florida.co.uk) saved £100 per family of four.
Didn't hire a car-hotel provided bus service to all disney parks. Once in Disney use Disney transportation to take you anywhere within Disney. Wouldn't bother hiring a car unless going further afield. Taxis reasonable too.
A fabulous holiday - can't wait to go back next year! Would certainly stay at the Sherton Safari again.

We stayed at the sheraton Safari hotel in lake buena vista, florida in july 2006.
The hotel was fantastic, beds and towels changed daily, rooms cleaned daily and left smelling fresh amd clean, standard size rooms had two queensize beds which where very comfortable after a long day at one of the many parks !, tv had a great range of chanels for both adults and children. at the end of every hallway there where drink and snack machines as well as ice machines which came in handy .
We where worried before we travelled that as we hadnt booked a hire car we would struggle getting to and from places, this was not the case at all as the hotel have free disney busses on every day, and even if you dohnt get the right disney bus fron your hotel then you can jump on any and then change busses onto another free bus at the disney gates ! if you wanted to go to a none disney park then the hotel still offered shuttle busses for a very good price , again they where frequent and easy to book.(famlily staying at another hotel whoi had a hire car actually ended upo walking to our hotel and getting on the free disney shuttle busses with us as it was expensive to park your car in the parks on a daily basis!!!This hotel was in the right location it wasn't to near (so that it was too noisy) but not too far away either. within walking distance there are several shops and eatery's all good value for money but our favourite was the Angus house of beef, and also the black angus a must if you love steak !
We fully recommend this hotel and the area, infact we are going to book again for next year we loved it that much ! (one final top tip, if at the end of your holiday you still have some days left on your theme park tickets then we found insidethe sizzler restaurant (right next door to the hotel), they had a ticket desk and they will buy them back off you !).

This hotel was fantastic, we had a suite which was a nice size, with a sofa and chair, sink, coffe machine and a little fridge freezer. It was clean, the beds where comfortable, the sheets where clean, the towels where white and the shower was a shower and not a dribble!!!! The maid cleaned every day, our six year old loved the pool and the python slide. Lake Buena Vista is not so built up, but still has a good selection of restaurants that you can walk to. We stayed 8 yrs ago at International Drive, so we had a drive over to see if it had changed very much. It had, it was busy, busy, busy, which is fine if you like busy , but we likened it to what we would imagine Blackpool to be like. This hotel was about a 5 minute drive from Sea World and a 10 minute drive to the Walt Disney parks...fantastic!!

Stayed at this hotel for the first 2 weeks of a 3 week holiday in Florida. (See also our review of the Sirata hotel at St Pete's Beach.)
We couldn't have been more pleased with the Sheraton Safari. The rooms were clean and well specified. We had hairdryer, iron and ironing board, coffee machine, TV. There is a launderette.
The beds are exceedingly comfy!
It is situated about 4 miles from the Disney attractions and is handy for everything else, being next to the I-4 highway.
The hotel provides free transport to all the Disney attractions with about 3 or 4 buses each way each day. They do not provide transport to the other attractions, however.
If you go to Disney, use their Photopass system. This is free of charge and you get a card which you give to any of their photographers (there are loads around - all have high spec Nikon digital SLR cameras) and they will take your photo (useful if you want all your party in the photo). You can then view your photos either at the photoshop at the attraction or on the Disneyphotopass.com web site for up to 30 days. You can, if you wish, buy any of the photos for about $13.
We went last week in September and the queues were fine. Never queued more than about 30 mins and most had no queues.
Did the Universal Studios Halloween, and not sure if it's worth the extra money.
The Epcot International Food and Wine festival in October and November (in it's 10th year this year) is definitely worth going to. They have free food and wine tastings and seminars and others which you have to pay for. We had a great time getting drunk on free Aussie wine!
Virtually everything in the US is very cheap (exception is alcohol). Don't take many clothes with you, buy new while you're there. Some of the bargains are unbelievable.
Booked through Travel City Direct who seemed OK (although they make you use an expensive 0870 number once you have booked your holiday if you want to contact them). Flew with MyTravel. The flights were great, with no delays and reasonable food.
Car hire was with Dollar (booked through Travel City Direct) and again, no problems.
