Considereing how much we paid for this hotel, we were very disappointed. Granted, it was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable, but never having stayed in a Haytt before we had expected more from one of their 4 star hotels.

The hotel is a huge ugly concrete block in a distinctly 70s style. On walking into the lobby, there is a large atrium which was quite dramatic, but that was the only impressive part about the hotel. The rooms were drab and dark and needed renovating. The furniture was chipped and scratched. There was no minibar or fridge. There was a notice on the back of the door saying that it was forbidden to bring your own food or drink into the hotel!! There was a balcony, but it looked onto the office block next door.

The breakfast was good - all you can eat f0r $10, but avoid the revolving restaurant on the roof as it is overpriced and the food is awful!!

Atlanta itself is boring! There is nothing to see and the weather was pretty bad too (thunderstorms every afternoon). The only redeeming feature is the shopping. Take the MARTA (underground train) from the station next to the hotel and you can get to Lennox Mall, Phipps Plaza and Perimeter Mall. Ask the hotel staff for directions. The Marta will also get you from the airport to the hotel. Flat fare for all journeys $1.75. Get off at Peachtree for the hotel.

Only stay in Atlanta if you are on your way to somewhere else... like we were!!!
