Just back from 2 weeks in vegas fantastic. We stayed in Luxor hotel huge, we were in tower room, excellent view. Rooms very large and clean never heard any noise from other guests in halls or rooms. They are doing a lot of building work in this hotel some attractions closed, Did not spoil holiday. You can get anything you want to eat great choice of foods in hotel. If you go to New York hotel food court you can even get great fish and chips. As we were there for 2 weeks we took our time to see and do everything we wanted to do, still never saw it all. But we will be back my husband is even considering going next year. Must see Grand canyon by air we flew from Mcarren int. airport great! The heat is really hot even at midnight 98, if windy like a hot fan blowing on you. But hotels all well airconditioned (very cold). Agree with other comments it is a must see, unbelivable out of this world. We will back soon.

We flew direct to Vegas by Virgin Atlantic, it was our first visit, so after only seeing friends photos we were totally blown away by the sheer scale of all the hotels. The attention to detail in re creating Paris,Venice, etc... What more can I say it was AMAZING!! There are no negative points to mention, we fell in love with vegas and will definately be returning. One thing you MUST see at all costs is the fountains outside the Bellagio, set to music and illuminated at night, they are stunning. We only had 3 days in vegas, so we dashed about and saw as much as possible. We recommend you get a good guide book, we had "The Spiral Guide to Las Vegas" by AA travel. It advises what is a MUST to see and then what to see if you have more time. It was invaluable. Some of our friends said"what do you want to go to vegas for,it's all slot machines!"......OMG, How naive those people are and what a treat they are missing. My advice to everyone is GO,GO,GO, it's one of the most incredible places on earth.(and BTW we aren't even gamblers!).......... I should say a few words about the Luxor, compared to the other hotels it's a bit plain inside, but lets face it they're trying to re create the inside of a pyramid, so they didn't have a lot to work with!! It's almost on the end of the strip which we liked as it was less busy, and we're mad walkers so the distance never bothered us.There is a monorail, but the walk through the vast MGM Grand hotel to get to the station meant it was quicker to walk straight down the strip than go to the monorail, we only tried it once.We ventured as far as the stratosphere, great views from the top, but not a nice part of the strip,it all seemed a bit tired and in need of some attention down that end.We saw Cirque Du Solleil Mystere show WOW, the people in those shows are fantastic, and Tournament of Kings in Excalibur, well worth a visit.Vegas is a place that should be on a list of "places to see before you die" I bet 99.9% of people who go would want to go back. WE LOVED IT!!

We booked to go to Vegas for a short break six weeks before departre, we used My Travel for the flights and booked directly with the luxor for accommodation.

Flights - The flights were direct, the cabin crew attentive and pleasant, the meals average. Each seat had its own back seat TV and a couple of decent films, legroom OK for some one who is 5 foot 9. No delays, however it was difficult to get comfortable enough to have a decent sleep, but we paid economy prices so our expectations were met.

Las Vegas Airport - it took us about 1 hour to get through customs and pick up our baggage and as we had travelled with two other couples, we decided to get a limo transfer, it cost $50, the usual transfer price to Luxor is about $12 to $17 per taxi, so was worthwhile. If you want to do the same just go outside the arrivals exit and accros the road from the taxi's there were about 10 limos, all waiting and unreserved.

Luxor - Check in was slow, there were only about 20 people before us, but the whole process took about 50 minutes. I had booked our rooms on line direct with the Luxor six weeks before departure, opting for a tower room. however a couple of days before departure I checked out the web site and realised the prices had been slashed by 40%, I rang the hotels reservations direct and asked how they could help, they were happy to upgrade us to a Pyramid Spa Suite and reduce the rate by $60 (Cost was $430 for three nights). The room was massive with a spa tub over looking Part of the Strip, it was need of decoration and quite dark, but clean and comfortable. If you stay in the Pyramid there is a high chance you will have to use an Inclinator (a diagonal lift) as we were on the 27th floor we had use this a couple of times a day, every one we spoke to felt quite dizzy after use - wierd !! We ate a Buffet Breakfast ($12) and Dinner ($19), both were good value, for the breakfast we ate late (10:40 ish) and as we had completed fruit juices, cereals, we were surprised to see that all of the breakfast hot plates were being removed for the lunch menu, however the idea of eggs, sausage and a choice of either chinese, italian or roast meet did not appeal, but to some it may !!! We also ate at the Pyramid Cafe, were it cost approx $10 for a large sandwich and fries, tasted good and good sized portions.

Casino - at the luxor it is over a large space, there was every game you could think of. The staff were inconsistent, we played Craps one night with an amazing night of luck and guidance from the staff we had a nice little win, but when we tried other table games on other nights some of the staff were about as helpful as a chocolate fireguard !! We found that the Cocktail waitresses were very frequent around the tables games, but not as frequent around the slots. Usual process you should tip a $1 for each drink received, however I would suggest that if you are staying in the same area that you tip $5 first time and ask the waitress to come back every quarter of an hour, they will if you keep them sweet !! We also drank in one of the bars, here for 6 drinks it cost $40 so it works to play small slots (1 cent a go) and get some free drinks off the Cocktail waitresses, you never know you may hit a jackpot.

Grand Canyon - you have got to do it, it cost $310 per person (thank god we had a win the night before) we used Sundance Helicopters. We left the hotel at 07:30, a limo picked us up, the flight there was 45 minutes with both a guided commentary plus a helpful pilot pointing out other interesting bits n bobs, we landed had a champagne breakfast (Croissant and muffin) for approx 30 minutes, there are some amazing sights, and I would recommend if you can afford it, try to budget this into your spends, it is a definite wow, if you are staying for longer than a couple of nights there are other options via road that are a lot cheaper, but I would do the helipcopter experience all over again when I go back. Flight back was via the strip so we got to see Freemont street and all of the sites from 2000 feet.

Vegas - due to time contraints we did not explore as much as we would like, we only got as far as treasure island, if you plan to go to the pirate fight get there 30 minutes before it starts becuase you can get really crushed which spoils the whole experience, the fountains at the bellagio are amazing. we went around all of the hotels, venetian amazing but the shops are dear !! There is so much to see and do, you have to make use of the both the hotels trams that link them to the same hotels and of the monorail and or deuce bus, we walked one way and trammed or taxi back. As and when we go back we will definitely see more, for example, outlet villages, Stratosphere tower, New york roller coaster etc...

Summary - flights ok, if I could afford more I would go for it, but they were adequate, Luxor, would definitely go back, but possibly stay in the tower just to avoid the inclinator !!

Finally - we were there for Halloween - the americans take this seriously every one dresses up, yes we saw some sights !!!!

We stayed in the Aladdin for 4 nights. We didn't ask for an upgrade but our room was great anyway. We had a good view of the hotels in the strip, 2 queen sized beds and a huge bathroom. We had breakfast in the Spice Market Buffet restaurant once but didn't like it too much, the rest of the days we had breakfast in the Zanzibar which was excellent! We also had a meal in the Mexican and the Chinese restaurants within the hotel which were also excellent especially the Chinese. Visited Starbucks a few times as well - open 24 hours as was Zanzibar. Had a few hours shopping in the Desert Passage, shopoholic heaven!! Went to the theartre within the Aladdin to see the variety show which was great and well worth the money. Only visited the pool area once which was pretty quiet but very clean and tidy. The only complaint we would have about the hotel was in that we got lost a few times round about the mezzanine part and exit areas, not sure if this was because the hotel is being changed over to Planet Hollywood but was a bit confusing at times, did not seem as well set out as most of the other hotels. All in all really enjoyed staying at the Aladdin although when we go back would stay at a different hotel as they all look great!

Las Vegas itself was fantastic. We visited most of the hotels but will have to go back to visit the ones we missed. Each hotel was different with there own themes and huge, you would have to go and see it for yourself to understand how amazing they are! Some parts of the strip was a bit ";tacky"; but whilst you were in the hotels it was a different world. We went to a couple of shows at night, The Variety Show in Aladdin and a hypnotist show in the Stardust Hotel which was a good laugh. We also visited Hoover Dam which was breathtaking..next time it's Grand Canyon!

Apart from this hotel that we stayed at our favourites were New York New York and The Mandalay Bay. We visited The Shark Reef within The Mandalay Bay hotel which was very interesting.

We flew by United Airlines and all the flights were excellent and we were well looked after.

4th time in Las Vegas 1st time staying at Aladdin. Lovely hotel, helpful staff. Ask to be upgraded well worth it! We were given a room overlooking Bellagio fountains. Room lovely and clean. We ate at Zanzibars cafe which was excellent for breakfast better than buffet.Valet parking free for guests well worth it if you have hired a car, felt like royalty. Music awards at hotel so saw plenty of stars, i.e. Mariah carey, Ricky Martin, Keith Urban, loads of others too.
If you hire a car take a trip to Red Rock Canyon, well worth it. Fremont street fabulous. We will go back again and again. We love it.
