New York, New York so good they named it twice, and i can see why. A fantastic place to visit with so much going on its hard to know where to start. As it was our first time in NY we did all the touristy things, Empire State, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island,Rockefella Centre, Times Square amongst others. So much to do and see that we will have to go back to do it all again. Lots of good eateries all over the city catering for all tastes in numerous types of cuisine. Had my eggs benedict in a NY diner just a block from Times square, one of lifes great little experiences. If you want a romantic restaurant then try The River Cafe, Brooklyn. Situated just below the Brooklyn Bridge with views over the water to Manhattan. The service was first class, the food was superb and the atmosphere was sublime. i fully recommend the River Cafe if you intend to pop the question to your beloved. I did and it was an evening we both will remember for the rest of our lives.

The best thing about the Paramount Hotel is its location. Only 150 yards from Times Square made it a superb base for exploring the marvellous city of New York. As we were only there for 5 days 4 nights and we only used the hotel for sleeping, we did not use...

Stayed at the 'Smelly Welly' for my 40th Birthday. Your experience depends completely on which floor you are located on. The upper floors have been refurbished the lower floors have not. Our first room was on the 4th floor. it was cramped, no room for a...

Hotel was in excellent location, however, we were told our room was upgraded (should have been 2 singles but got 2 doubles). But think we got a room that no-one else would stay in.
The bathroom ceiling was covered in mould and paint was peeling away,...

Loads to do in NY - we found the bus tours a great way of seeing the city - they're hop on/hop off, so you can choose where to stop off. Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island really good, but LOTS of waiting around (especially if you've got a pre-booked monument pass, as they do more security checks) - be prepared to be very patient if you want to actually get off the ferry and look around these places, but it's worth the ferry trip if only for the good view that you get of the S o L - it doesn't look much from Battery Park, you need to get out on the water. Views of the Empire State building are great from the Top of the Rock, and can recommend Greenwich Village for a more laid back New York experience.

The hotel is in a fantastic location - we went through Times Square at least twice a day each day. Rooms are tired and cramped, but clean enough. Don't trust the hotel staff though - they seem to have some kind of deal with a taxi co called Sammy's Limo...
